1. Shetland ponies originate from the Shetland Islands off Scotland.

2. Ponies can sleep both standing and lying down. In a herd of ponies, they sleep in shifts. There is always someone keeping watch and watching for danger. 

3. They are very strong and they can pull up to twice their own weight.
